Time does not heal.
People can heal in time, if they're willing to change.
Why does it seem so difficult to ever reach a goal? I mean really reach it for more than a day?
Think about it....
MOST people who want to lose weight....don't.
MOST people who want to earn more money...don't.
MOST people who want to quit smoking...don't.
It's true in almost every area of life.
Think about how many times you've said, "I'm going to cut out some of the sugar in my diet"....and then by the end of the day, you're having a sugary treat?
Or, how many times have you decided to save money by skipping Starbucks or a meal out....and, yet, before you know it, you're back to your usual spending routine?
It's easy to say the problem is "habit." That's definitely part of it, but there's more to it than that. What's keeping that unwanted habit in place?
In fact, just today, I saw an amazing statistic. Over 81% of adults believe they should write a book. Yet, only 1% of these people ever even start writing a book, and only a fraction of those folks ever actually finish.
So, what's going on here?
So, why is it so hard for us to just DO what we say we want to do?
The cycle of self-sabotage is fueled by our belief that habit (or pattern change) is going to happen through willpower. I recognize the importance of examining thoughts and reframing them to be supportive of ourselves. However, the key ingredient missing from sustaining the changes we want is emotional mastery.
Most of our habits - the patterns we really adhere to - are fueled by our emotions not our thoughts.
That's why thinking, or willpower, alone will never be enough to obtain and sustain the changes we want.
If you think of yourself as a car, the steering wheel is your conscious mind. It makes your daily decisions, and governs your outer behavior, movement, and sensory function. When you eat an apple, your conscious mind “steers” your hand to your mouth, and tells your mandible to chew.
When you break your diet, or say something silly, it’s your subconscious that makes that happen.
Your subconscious is your engine, your central processing unit. It makes deep decisions, and governs what goes on “behind the scenes.”
Your subconscious decides right from wrong, makes you succeed or fail, and is responsible for careless or thoughtless mistakes. It gives you confidence, fear, anxiety, stress, strength, weakness, happiness, and lots of other emotions. It makes you confident or afraid to build deep relationships, determines how you perform at work, and does many more vital tasks that decide your life’s path and direction.
The good news is that you can decide what kind of fuel to put in your car. Fill your tank up with premium petrol (hypnosis), and you’ve connected your conscious with your subconscious. Now you can steer and control your subconscious, and inject it with the power to achieve your goals of health, abundance, pain management - you name it - and be free from limiting habits and beliefs.
Hypnosis is a natural, familiar state. We all
move in and out of the hypnotic state all day long. For instance, sometimes we
go into this state when we’re driving, watching TV, listening to music, or
working on a project that we’re passionate about.
In a more relaxed state, you can make
extremely powerful changes in your life because it is the state in which you
are the most receptive, creative, and intuitive.
Hypnosis produces increased focus, heightened sense of suggestibility, and deep relaxation to
access the subconscious mind without resistance. This allows for brain wave
state shifts to take place to promote wellness and recovery.
I used to get so anxious , so stressed out, that it felt as though my heart was going to pound out of my chest! I would gain weight during especially stressful times, and my relationships suffered, too.
When I stop and think about it, stress is at the center of many unwanted, and sometimes painful, thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Whether it's overeating, smoking, drinking too much, low self-esteem, trauma, pain, (the list goes on and on), it seems that stress on the body and the mind is the superglue keeping us stuck.
I didn't want to go the medication route or spend lots of money on talk therapy (even though I am a mental health therapist!)
So, I started doing some research into quick and effective techniques to get my stress under control. That's what led to my becoming a hypnotherapist. Hypnosis has proven to be the answer I was looking for because hypnosis fuels the subconscious mind - the emotional mind - directly. Within just a few days of using hypnotherapy, I felt as though a weight (literally) had been lifted. I regained control over my thoughts, feelings, and actions. I became more responsive and less reactive in my everyday life. My physical health improved, as well as my relationships and emotional well-being.
