Hypnosis works well with:
- Cognitive (thought) and
behavioral (action) techniques
- Brain Entrainment: a
method to stimulate the brain into entering a specific state by using a
pulsing sound, light, or electromagnetic field. The pulses elicit the
brain’s frequency-following response, encouraging the brainwaves to align to the frequency of a given beat. This frequency-following response of
brainwave entrainment can be seen in action with those prone to
epilepsy. If a strobe flashes at their seizure frequency, the brain will "entrain" to the flashing light, resulting in a seizure. On the positive side, this same
mechanism is commonly used to induce many brainwave states, such as a
trance, enhanced focus, relaxation, meditation or sleep induction. The
brainwave entrainment effectively pushes the entire brain into a certain
state. Insight Hypnotherapy employs the use of sound waves to enhance a state of relaxation.
- Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)/Meridian Tapping: a bilateral brain reprogramming technique that involves tapping on the body's meridian points while inculcating helpful verbal messages.

It is important to recognize

neither procedure nor prescription that is done to you. In fact, all hypnosis
is self-hypnosis in that you are an active participant in the process. The hypnotherapist

goals depends on you. Success in hypnosis works similarly to success in looking
after your physical health. For instance, if a doctor prescribes blood pressure
medication to a patient, that medication will work best only if the patient
takes the pill as prescribed, quits smoking, reduces stress, and eats a low
sodium diet. Otherwise, the blood pressure medication is “swimming against the
tide” so to speak with little chance of success. It is like this when using
hypnosis. Success depends on many variables including personal attitude,
