Improving Your Body Confidence This Year

Body confidence is one aspect of our lives that can cause stress. There is nothing worse than not liking what we see in the mirror, and it can be difficult to live a carefree life when we are constantly worrying about our appearance.

Today I want to talk about body confidence and some of the things you can do this week to help improve it. From smaller changes like changing your hair to life changing Hormone Replacement Therapy - there are so many ways to improve your body confidence and ensure that you are proud to be in your own skin.

Look in the mirror and say one good thing

If you are struggling with your image and feel self conscious every day, one important way to change this is to look in the mirror while naked and say one good thing. Every day take a moment to stand in front of the mirror and look at yourself. Notice the sparkle in your eyes, the shape of your shoulders or the smoothness of your skin and say it to yourself. By reinforcing a positive feeling when you look in the mirror you will learn not to be afraid of it.

Eat healthier food

Eating a healthy diet is not only good for your body but it will help your mental state. If you often feel bloated after you have eaten and this makes you feel self-conscious, a good way to combat this is with different food. Healthier foods won’t bloat you and won’t make you feel groggy and full. They will fuel a healthy day and give you energy and happiness. Eating leaner foods will increase your body confidence because you will naturally look leaner and brighter.

Know that no one is perfect

It is important to realize that there is not a single person on this earth who is perfect. Everyone has flaws and everyone is unique. Don’t hold yourself to ridiculous standards and instead focus on ways to help yourself feel more confident in the skin you're in. You are unique and beautiful and you can offer so much to the world.

Stop comparing yourself to others

Instagram and Pinterest are both dangerous social media sites for body confidence because they are littered with photos of models with tiny bodies posing in the most beautiful parts of the world. The important thing to do when you are suffering from confidence issues is to stay away from these sites. Comparing yourself to others is never good because the people you are looking at get paid for being thin and fit. They are paid money to look that way and that is why they are able to do it. Normal people don’t look like that very often and this is something you must consider.

Today take the time to stop caring about others and start focusing on yourself. Know that you are beautiful and take the time to wear clothes that fit your body type, makeup that accentuates your natural features, and be happy in your own skin.
